Knaphill Flats

Working with one of our partners, Eko Custom Homes fabricated and installed this prestigious three-story apartment building in Surrey, which was pre-clad with brick slips before transportation to the site to give a traditional external finish.

The 21 modules were installed in just four days and provide 809m2 of accommodation space, spread over nine apartments and three floors. The flats on the first and top floor also came with an additional 100m2 of external space comprised of balconies and roof terraces, with a 20m2 green roof installed to a first-floor module. The modular bicycle and waste stores included factory fitted concrete floors, however, with the client deciding last minute that they required extra space, we constructed a traditional brick extension to give the additional storage.

The complex modular design was completed from the original drawings (intended for traditional construction) by our in house team of designers, using both traditional 2D CAD and BIM Level 2 compliant Revit Architecture. One challenging aspect of this design was working within the planning constraints and maintaining the existing planning heights whilst utilizing a modular solution.
